Jaganmohini slated for release in April

The most memorable film of yesteryears ‘Jaganmohini’ is being remade on the same name again with a whopping budget of Rs 20 crore with Ch Murali as producer and SK Viswanathan as director. The film had Namita in the title role, Raja and Meera Chopra in the lead roles. Presently climax shooting is in progress. Producer says, ‘The scenes that were shot in Andaman Nicobar islands would attract the audiences as they came out in an exemplary manner.’ Earlier it was planned to release the film during Sankranti season. However, the producer did not compromise on quality and asked the director to take his own time. Now the unit is of the opinion to release the film during summer. Narasimha Raju, who played the hero in the earlier film is playing the role of the hero’s father, while Jyotilakshmi, sister of Jayamalini who played the Jaganmohini, is playing the heroine’s mother. Director says, ‘These two characters would remain a highlight of the movie.’
