Kajol or Rani?

We know that South India's newest sensation Anushka’s latest Tollywood blockbuster Arundhathi, which was recently dubbed into Tamil as Arundhathee, is all set to be remade in Hindi by Yashraj Films. Now we hear that Kajol Devgan and Rani Mukherjee are being considered for the title role, while Amitabh Bachchan is reportedly being approached to play the character enacted by Sayaji Shinde in Telugu.

Sonu Sood, who played the main antagonist in Telugu, will repeat the same part in Hindi as well. Though many producers, including Ghajini’s Madhu Mantena, were vying for the Hindi remake rights, the producer of the Telugu version M. Shyam Prasad Reddy has decided to remake the film in Hindi.

Confirming these developments, Sonu Sood reportedly said: "I’m excited because we all worked very hard on making the Telugu (original) version something special. Lots of producers wanted to remake it in Hindi. But now the original producer has decided to go for it. The Hindi Arundhathi will be far more expensive and polished. We start shooting in June."

Remake expert Priyadarshan was initially approached to direct Arundhathi in Hindi, but Priyan apparently has no time to spare at such short notice. "The original director Kodi Ramkrishna can’t understand Hindi. So we’re probably going with a guy named Rahul who did all the special effects in Tamil," he added.
