Lata Mangeshkar to sing in Telugu!

A pleasant surprise for Telugu film lovers. After a gap of over many years, melody queen and Bharata Ratna Lata Mangeshkar has agreed to sing for Telugu films, if she gets such an opportunity. Lata, who is presently rendering Annamacharya keerthanas for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, expressed her desire to sing for Telugu films during her felicitation in Mumbai on Sunday.

The last and only time that she sang for Telugu films was for the film Akari Poratam, “Santhaanam,” and the famous song – “Nidurapo…Nidurapo.. Niduraporaa Tammudaa..” still reverberates in the houses of Telugu film lovers. If she can sing a couple of more Telugu films, it will be a great opportunity for the Telugu film industry.
