It’s also unfortunate that people have not stopped their hatred against the gay community but have only learnt to mask it,’’ she says.

'Piliche Pedavula' duet by Anushka, Mahesh

HYDERABAD: It's a love game that India's tennis sensation Sania Mirza is racing away with, leaving countless young men with that sinking feeling. She may be out of the French Open singles but her doubles challenge, in ways more than one, is steaming ahead. For, according to a family source, Sania's betrothal to a Hyderabadi boy, Sohrab Mirza, has just been arranged.
For those looking for spice in the hows and whys, here's a dampener: There have been no quiet dates and ``we are just good friends'' statements. As the story goes, the families of Sania and Sohrab have been friends for years. They discussed the proposal some time back and agreed, the source said.
And before one says `Sohrab who?' here goes: he is the son of Adil Mirza and Noora Begum, owners of the Universal Bakers chain in the city, which is popular with the hip set. A different story with dull pace, the tale begins on the backdrop of the Kuala Lumpur airport where Dhruv (manoj) arrives with his friends Kailash (janardhan) and Raman. He is on his way to Singapore from Malaysia on holidays but then his life takes a turn when he bumps across Harika (harika), one of the passengers in the airport who is on her way to India to meet her prospective husband. While Dhruv is more of a carefree guy who doesn't plan much, Harika is quite the opposite. However, cupid strikes Dhruv in one shot and he decides that Harika is the one for him. From then on, he begins to put his efforts on getting to know Harika, making friends with her and finally confessing his love for her. The problem for him is time since Harika's flight leaves in about two hours and he may not be able to see her for the rest of his life. What does he do and whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a wafer thin storyline and he had to rely on the presentation which was neat and the narration which was not having gravity. The dialogues were okay, the script was written without any hitches but the plot was too weak. Screenplay had a key role to play in this but then there were many drag moments. Music was alright and one song made sense. Cinematography was justified and editing was needed at some key places to avoid boredom. Costumes were top notch and other departments need no mention here. Manchu Manoj had to shoulder the entire film and though he looks good, he needs to work on his expressions and the soft side of emotions are not being seen in him, he looked a bit impish in few scenes here. Harika was sweet and her eyes had the magic though she was not that pretty. Manoj's friends and Harika's friend were the relief providers with their acts and dialogues. Brahmanandam's role was weak and he did not have much to do. Daniel came and went.
Conclusion:
The film must be appreciated for the different approach it took but then what is more important is the message about love at first sight and that moment has to touch the audience correctly. While that did not happen the first half was busy with the hero following the heroine and the second half is about whether he is successful or not. The pace of the movie is quite slow and there were many drag moments. Overall, the film will appeal to the youth audience a bit but then it has fallen flat due to the lack of many funny moments and the weak romantic sequences

Prajarajyam president K Chiranjeevi is all excited about attending the Legislative Assembly which is scheduled to start in the first week of June.
In an informal chat with reporters at theparty office on Wednesday, the PRP president said he was eager to be part of the esteemed House, where legislations are passed, public finances approved and also scrutinise the government. "I am all excited to be part of the XIIIth Legislative Assembly. I am eager to learn its functioning and the importance of my role," he said.
Chiranjeevi was curious to learn the nitty-gritty associated with the Assembly and also on the responsibility of being a legislature party leader. The PRP chief was all ears to reporters when they simplified his role in the Assembly. He gave a patient hearing to them on the impending role he would have to perform on the floor of the House.
When Chiranjeevi was informed of being allotted a separate chamber in the assembly, which was previously allotted to the deputy speaker, the PRP chief said he was glad to hear the news. To another query, the PRP chief said he would attend the House without fail and come prepared in advance.
The PRP president said he would have attended the swearing-in ceremony of chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had he been extended an invitation. "I was very keen, but dropped out after not receiving an invite," he said.
Meanwhile, the Prajarajyam president continued with his massive damage-control exercise to revive the party by holding discussion with runner-up candidates in the recent elections. At least 32 contestants ended runners-up in the elections. He had a detailed interaction with several city leaders on the measures to be initiated for strengthening the party and make it vibrant.
Apart from streamlining the functioning of party office, another noticeable change at the PRP office on Wednesday was the use of the main gate and main door on the north side by the party president. Earlier, he used to drive in through the side-gate and enter the premises through the back door as a security measure. When asked to comment on the development, the PRP staffers remained tightlipped but hinted that it could be something to do with vastu.
"Though the party president inaugurated the office on August 10 last year, he was never known to using either the main entrance or front door. We were given instructions to keep the main gate open," a staffer said.
A contestant who witnessed the party president use the main door said, "A pro-vastu door is very important for the growth of the office and the boss has already been sitting in south-west facing north as per vastu."

Chiranjeevi the Praja Rajyam leader is now going to enter the assembly as an MLA. According to sources, the Megastar was deeply disappointed by the election results. But he covered it by saying that his fans have ordered him to in the opposition in order to reveal the problems of the common man to the ruling party.

In an industry that’s obsessed with Bollywood imports, making a mark wasn’t easy. But Bindu Madhavi, the sari-clad Telugu ammayi who played the role of a pickle seller in Shekhar Kammula’s Avakaya Biriyani not only won hearts in Tollywood but also accolades for her great performance.
Avakaya’s success brought with it a horde of opportunities for the actress. But Bindu isn’t all that kicked. “The problem with Tollywood is that everyone’s waiting to typecast you. Ever since Avakaya became a hit, I’ve been flooded with offers to play a village belle. I was forced to turned down every one of them.”
Fame came with a string of controversies, and soon producers ran miles away from Bindu who was tagged “difficult”, “choosy” and even “pricey”. It was reported that she hiked her fee to an astronomical sum, causing producers to drop her like hot potato. She clarifies, “I heard those allegations too... Someone said I demanded Rs 1 crore for a film. If only it was true! They are all just baseless rumours.”
These are all the pitfalls of not having a godfather or a mentor in this male dominated industry, she says. “Life in T’wood isn’t easy. I have no one to guide me and I’m yet to learn how to judge a script. That’s the reason why I prefer acting in movies with a reputed director or production house,” Bindu adds. Not the one to get bogged down by criticism, Bindu says she wants to move on to better, bigger things. “I am not here to fit into a mould others set for me. I want to break all the moulds with path-breaking roles. Think Jolie as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider...”

Colours Swathi Badly Injured At The Shooting

Temples and tiffs:
Recently Nayan went for having a darshan at the famous Mannaserry Killikavu temple near Ottapalam in Kerala. She was dressed in a neat salwar-kameez but what she did not know was the protocol at this Bhagavathy (Amman) temple. The women should wear sari to enter the premises and Nayan was not aware of this. It seems her dress caused annoyance to a group of locals and after praying at the temple, the authorities and locals got into an argument with her and expressed objection over her dress code. However, the situation calmed down after a while when Nayan apologized to the authorities and the matter was settled peacefully. She has also done a Thulabaram at the famous Chettikulangara Devi Temple in Mavelikkara near Alleppy in Kerala.
Devotion and faith:
Nayan says that she has been trying her best not to get into controversies but for no fault of hers she gets dragged into unwanted stuff. She recalls that she grew up in an army garrison as her father was in the air force. Apparently, a temple, church and mosque are all situated in the same compound in the Garrison. So from her childhood, Nayan said that she used to pray at all places of worship. Now, when she shoots near a famous temple anywhere in India, she makes it a point to visit the place.
Struggles of living alone:
Nayan feels that she is fighting the battles of being a lone lady without the support of parents, managers and relatives. She tends to take decisions on her own and it is also said that for the last six months, the pretty starlet has been absent from the parties and also tries to stay away from film functions. She is said to be keen on keeping to herself and when asked about it, Nayan says that she doesn’t miss anybody and enjoys her privacy. She also says that she is able to concentrate more on her career that way.
Future projects:
Career wise, the pretty actress is riding high with some plum projects. She is all excited about K S Ravikumar’s Aadhavan with hot star Suriya and then she has two Telugu films — one with NTR jr and the other with Ravi Teja titled ‘Anjaneyulu’. Speaking about Surya, Nayan said that Surya is soft spoken and a complete professional and they have shot almost 80 percent of the film which has shaped out really well. Finally, she concludes that her hands are full for this year with four films in three languages and right now she is enjoying every moment of it.

Nayan says that the competition from the new starlets is bound to happen and honestly states that success doesn’t last forever in tinsel town. She also added that it is not realistic to remain at the top permanently as a lot of fresh talents are coming up everyday.
